Community Food Programme

Dewsbury Community Outreach aims to help the vulnerable members of our society by providing practical, emotional and spiritual support. All of our meals are provided free of charge to the recipients and we are dependent upon grant funding, donations from individuals and the support of local businesses to achieve this. We have been grateful for the assistance of Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and KFC through Fareshare & Neighbourly and Fusion Housing in providing surplus food either to distribute directly to those in need or to use in our cooked meals.

Many of the people attending the project are in receipt of food parcels that require them to prepare and cook their own meals; it has become clear to us that most of them struggle with this. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant to purchase two freezers. This allows our partners at Sensory World and Gift of Giving to prepare meals on a bulk basis so we can freeze and distribute them as required for microwaving at home by the recipient. We would be grateful for any financial or food support that partner agencies may be able to provide that helps us keep this service operating.

Currently our lunch time meal is available for people in need as follows:
