October 2024. B&Q. Thank you to B&Q who provided paint and other materials to tidy up the kitchen and back cellar. On Friday 18 October 24 a team of volunteers from B&Q did much of the waterproof undercoat and other preparation work then over the weekend our own volunteers have painted mould proof top coat and fire proof paint to the ceiling and floor joists. The finished job looks excellent.
September 2024. Brewers Foundation. Brewers Foundation have provided us with some free tins of special paint for use on tyres to create the snake climbing and seat feature in the play area. A few more sections are still needed along the wall.
July 2024. Playground Project. The playground in Elim Church yard is nearing completion and the equipment is ready to use. A key objective of the project was to utilise a large number of volunteers to generate a culture of teamwork, pride in the job and self worth. The main task to generate a flat play surface was funded by One Community with gifts in kind from builders merchants A.W. Lumb and Wickes. The play structure was purchased with a Local Giving Magic Little Grant.
2 July 2024. TSL Volunteers Grant. TSL Kirklees awarded us a grant to take the volunteer team on an evening canal trip. We had two boats provided by Safe Anchor Trust
June 2024. The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation. In June 2024 YBS gave us a grant to assist with our running costs
May 2024. One Community Foundation. We have received a further grant to cover our operational costs for the next few months.
March 2024. Kirklees Council. In March 2024 our work was recognised by Kirklees Council for making a valuable contribution to the welfare of less well off people in Dewsbury.
January 2024. Community Organisations Cost of Living Big Hug Grant. We have received a Big Hug grant to carry out further building improvement works and fund some of our operational costs up to March 2024.
November 2023. Neighbourly and B&Q Foundation Grant. We have received a grant from the B&Q Foundation via Neighbourly to carry out electrical safety work on the upper floors of 74 Daisy Hill.
11 July 2023. TSL Volunteers Grant. TSL Kirklees awarded us a grant to take the volunteer team on an evening canal trip. We had two boats provided by Safe Anchor Trust

21 December 2022. One Community Foundation Household Support Grant. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant to assist vulnerable people with their fuel bills over the winter period and to provide other support such as warm clothing, food and essential household goods. The grant has also included a supply of blankets, thermos flasks and gloves to be given out to needy people.
20 December 2022. One Community Foundation Winter Grant. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant towards our operating costs for the winter period
27 October 2022. We were Runners Up in the Kirklees Council Recycling Hero Awards..
18 October 2022. One Community Foundation Autumn Grant. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant towards our operating costs for the Autumn period
9 May 2022. Asda Foundation Grant. The Asda Foundation have awarded us a grant to provide a party at the Queens Jubilee Celebrations for the residents of Daisy Hill and the surrounding area. The Party was held on Saturday 4 June from 2-5pm, see the Creative Activities page for photographs.
29 April 2022. One Community Foundation Spring Grant. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant towards our operating costs for the Spring period

20 December 2021. One Community Foundation Winter Grant. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant from the Police Fund towards our operating costs for the Winter period
3 November 2021. One Community Foundation Autumn Grant. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant towards our operating costs for the Autumn period.
30 October 2021. The Architectural heritage Foundation awarded us a grant of £14,850 to carry out a feasibility assessment of future uses of the building, this included architectural, structural and valuation reports. The work was managed for us by Martin Walsh Architectural. Some of the recommended changes to the building layout are in the process of being implemented and others will follow as funds allow.
10 August 2021. Acting Club Grant. Creative Scene and The Local Connections Fund have awarded grants to the acting club to provide costumes for street performances by local historic characters on Heritage Open Day, 11 September 2021. (see the Acting & Writing Club page for pictures of the event)
1 March 2021. TSL Covid19 Vaccine Grant. Third Sector Leaders have awarded us two grants to assist those on the margins of society to register for a Covid19 vaccination and if they do not wish to have a vaccine report the reasons why.
1 February 2021. One Communities Foundation Grant. One Communities Foundation have awarded us a further grant to provide food, warm clothing and personal hygiene products in February & March.
15 December 2020. TSL Winter Payments Grant Third Sector Leaders have awarded us a winter payment grant of £1000 to assist needy people with one-off payments towards their fuel bills and to purchase heated electrical throws to help keep individuals warm this winter.
10 November 2020. Co-Op Food Share We have been awarded a grant from Co-Op Food Share to assist with the food distribution programme.
31 October 2020. One Community Foundation Match Funding One Community Foundation will be match funding any gifts that we receive in November, December and January 2021.
22 October 2020. TSL Acting Club Grant. The Acting Club have been awarded a grant from Third Sector Leaders to work in conjunction with Creative Scene on street performance characters based upon Charles Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’. It had been intended to perform as part of the Christmas lights switch on but due to Covid19 restrictions this was not be possible. Instead a video for use on YouTube and Facebook was be produced. 9 October 2020. Big Sleep Out. The The Huddersfield Town AFC Big Sleep Out project will be providing us with a shopping trolley full of food each month for the next six months.
13 Aug 2020. One Community Foundation Grant For Freezers. One Community Foundation have awarded us a grant to purchase two freezers. This will allow our partners at Sensory World and Gift of Giving to prepare meals on a bulk basis which we can freeze and distribute as required for microwaving at home by the recipient.
05 June 2020. Letter from Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire. We were honoured and touched to receive a letter of thanks from Ed Anderson, HM Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire for our services to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is lovely to receive this acknowledgement, which reflects on the hard work, effort and support of countless different people and organisations. Thank you everyone for your ongoing support to help our community and we also thank and praise the Lord God for the joy and privilege to serve His town of Dewsbury and share His love with those in need.AGE
15 May 2020. New Boiler. We have successfully completed a crowdfunding project for a new boiler for the upper floors of 74 Daisy Hill. Can we please express our thanks to all those who have pledged support, to Spacehive for hosting our crowdfunding page and Kirklees Council for their match funding contribution of £1,500. Thank you one and all.
30 April 2020. One Community Foundation Grant. We are delighted to have been awarded a grant from One Community Foundation Kirklees to provide emergency food to those in need during the corona virus pandemic and are currently partnering with Sensory World and Dewsbury Elim Church to provide daily breakfast sandwiches and a hot lunchtime meal on Fridays.
